Training and behavioural therapy
In the UK we were partners in Equusense, based in Mappowder in the heart of the Blackmore Vale in Dorset many equines came and went, arriving with problems or just waiting to be trained and backed. Rachel Norris together with Intelligent Horsemanship taught us the art of Equus, which proved to be a gentle training method that the horses/ponies understood.

Crystal healing and Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. More>>
Nursery school
All babies, Human or Equine, need to learn by play. This is noticeable if you study Herd behaviour.
Young Colts copy the Stallion behaviour and fillies copy the Alfa Mare behaviour. They play together at being adults, head snaking, bucking, rearing up at each other, the list goes on.
At the Spanish Mustang Stud we firmly believe that this behaviour gives a young horse/pony a strong character foundation and we leave the youngster together in a nursery paddock with toys for at least 6 months after weaning. The paddock will usually be next door to the mares paddock enabling the youngsters to communicate with the older horses to allay any fears they may have.
We at Spanish Mustang Stud welcome people’s fillies or colts (circumstances permitting) to join our babies herd after weaning if needed. Prices vary depending on the criteria of the animal involved.
The youngsters are regularly handled and ground manners are instilled in a natural way promoting healthy Human respecting equines that can go to be well-adjusted horses/ponies.
