Our Farm
The Spanish Mustang Stud is set in the heart of Department 22 in Brittany France in the rural commune of Bulat Pestivien.
Pors an Lunet (COURTYARD OF THE MOON) is a Farm with approx 7 acres around the yard and a further 7 –9 acres around the village for grazing.
Presently under construction it will be a Farmhouse with a barn with stabling for 6 plus 2 foaling stables. A round pen will be constructed during the summer of 2008 for the training and therapy. There is an area of hard standing for loading training and farrier work.
2009 will see the completion of the Gite, which will be hopefully available for rentals during the holiday seasons.
A working stud farm is always a work in progress and visitors are welcome to visit, preferably with an appointment, as we aren’t always available if we are working with the horses.
We apologise but we are unable to allow dogs or untrained children, for their own safety. Stallions are unpredictable as are Mares with young.
The Farmhouse
The original Farmhouse was built around 1800 and over the last two centuries has been extended and refurbished extensively. Presently the loft (once a granary) is being converted into a two bedrooms with a bathroom. There is a further area with two bedrooms on the ground floor and a large farmhouse kitchen that has been completely re-fitted. The old 1950’s Dutch barn will be replaced with a new timber framed barn to enclose the stables, which will be designed as light and airy with all the latest modern technology to assist with foaling and therapies.
Maison du Vache
This a large two storey ex Cow shed that we hope to convert into an open plan two storey three bed roomed house but the horse housing must take priority, so this is a future plan.
Maison du Poullet
This will be the two bed roomed gite which will be as disabled friendly as possible. Located overlooking the Maternity Paddocks with its own patio and small garden will be ideal for artists, authors, horse lovers or just people who want a peaceful break overlooking a very rural country
scene. Surrounded by Hazel trees and fruit trees this Gite will exude peace and tranquillity.
