Brought to the New World by the Spanish Conquistadors, the Spanish Mustang is descended from North African Barb, Jennet and the native Spanish Sorraia horse.

Confused by many with the feral horses currently managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), there is a vast difference in both appearance and ancestry. More>>

Breed Character
Found in a wide spectrum of colours , not only are the basic colours of bay, chestnut and black represented, but the more rare colours are found as well as appaloosa and paint patterns, including the mystical Medicine Hat. Some individuals show primitive patterns such as zebra striped legs, line backed and shoulder barring. Height varies from 13.2 to 15 hands. A balanced horse, they are never heavily muscled and possess outstanding feet and legs. Short backs enhance their weight carrying capacity. More>>
